I’ve always loved chocolate for breakfast.
I’ve never been much of a coffee drinker in the mornings, but I find chocolate to be comforting and energizing.
I have been experimenting with my oatmeal lately, and I think I’ve found a breakfast staple.
Have you tried açai bowls? Have you tried chocolate bowls? Have you tried açai AND chocolate together?
Well, you’re going to, and you’re going to love it.
Like many good things, this combo happened by accident.
I intended to make a pretty purple oatmeal – but it didn’t quite turn out that way. Instead of purple, it ended up brown.
It looked exactly like chocolate oatmeal… So I decided to add some chocolate squares to it.
It turned out fantastic.
I discovered açai pretty recently – and I can’t get enough of it.
Besides giving a beautiful purple hue to smoothies (definitely not to oatmeal) – it’s packed with so much goodness.
Açai has a strong antioxidant activity. Studies have shown that the anthocyanins present in açai berries can increase the antioxidant capacity in your blood and fight oxidative damage.
On the other hand, studies show that cocoa has polyphenolic compounds that can also fight oxidative stress and improve cerebral blood flow. This can boost your energy levels and enhance your mood.
You’re in for a treat!
